Painting Again!

I had a little time and a lot of inspiration lately, so I painted a little picture for myself! I really love how it came out. The background was so difficult to do. In terms of painting, I always work in watercolors, and it's always been difficult for me to paint backgrounds evenly! I had to go over it more than once, but I did finally achieve the color and consistency I wanted. :D

A wider view:

In other news, I believe I'm going to reopen my Etsy shop for a bit. I know a friend who wants to buy from me, and I think I'm ready to come back. I'll have a few new earrings up as well, so check it out!

I'll post the official opening date here tomorrow or later today. :)

Painting!

I had a little time to paint tonight! I'm really excited how this came out. It's a sugar skull painted using watercolor paints. The background came out ok, not the best, but I really like how the skull designs came out.

Inspiration.

So readers, I'm having trouble with inspiration right about now. Well, that and motivation, but I'll save motivation for another post. I've noticed lately that I've been going to start a new project. I cut up my paper, and then I don't know what to make with it. I could go with what I usually make, but I've been looking to do something different lately. I guess I could use a little inspiration. Nothing really does it, though. I look at amazing photographs taken by my photographer friends, and I look at other people's amazing creations on Etsy but bupkiss.

Maybe I should try watching Trigun again. That always put me in the mood to draw for some reason; maybe it would inspire me to make jewelry as well.

I also think writing in here would do a lot to make me want to create. I mean, I did promise to show you all what I've been making!

We're All Mad Here.

I'm thinking about making some "Alice in Wonderland" inspired earrings. No, this has nothing to do with the fact the movie is coming out in a month. It actually all came about because I was watching the Disney, animated movie with a little girl a month or so ago at work. After watching it, I really wanted to make some earrings inspired by all the characters and colors.

They'll probably include my wheel earrings, pictured below, and then something else.

I haven't exactly figured out what that something else is yet. But when I know, you'll know!

Projects.

I've got a few projects in the works right now. I've been researching how to make wallets and bags, so expect something like that out of me when I figure the best way to accomplish what I want to make!

I'm also thinking about my Etsy shop, because I almost always am, and I have an idea to make some origami flower corsages for prom, since it's coming up soon! I just need to figure out how to make one. I'm going to take a look at mine that I still have from prom, and I also have to get some baby's breath because there's no such thing as a corsage without baby's breath.

Finally, I'm thinking about painting more. Because I haven't painted in a really long time. :)

Anyway, that's what I have in the works right now! Stay tuned for pictures and other projects!

Home Sweet Home

Alright, the Dreamwidth thing didn't work out. I started it, and then there weren't many people on there to make me want to update more often. So I just let it die.

Now I'm back on Blogspot, and this will be my PERMANENT blog home for as long as we both shall exist.

So, as some of you may have noticed, I put my Etsy shop on vacation mode. I'm not actually going on vacation, but I'm on a vacation from Etsy. I feel an enormous amount of pressure thinking about how I'm NOT making more jewelry, and how I'm missing out on all these holidays in order to sell things. I feel as if all this stress about wanting to upload more is stifling my creativity.

So that's why it's on vacation mode. I also need to get in touch again with my inner artist. I feel as if this is now my job, and it's not something I really enjoy doing much anymore. But I want to enjoy it again like I did. So I'm going to work on actually enjoying creating art, instead of just selling it.

Of course, I'm not going to leave all you readers in the dark! I'll be updating occasionally with my progress, and I'm sure my artsy things will make appearances on here. I'm not going to limit myself to just making jewelry, though. I want to paint more, and I want to write more. I want to do EVERYTHING I used to do more, so expect that from me!

Until the next update! See you Space Cowboys!
